EEDECON

A Program Library for Performing Extended Euler Deconvolution of Magnetic Data

EEDECON estimates the depth to source based on Extended Euler deconvolution of magnetic data. There are two main variants of this program. In the first variant, the structural index (SI) is specified and the program solves for source location (x0 , y0 , and z0) and background values. In the second variant, the SI is also considered as an unknown and the program solves simultaneously for it together with the source location. The GUI allows the user to easily input a grid file in GXF format, specify an output file, and select an Extended Euler deconvolution method with parameters. It then automatically calculates derivatives and the generalized Hilbert transform, and carries out Euler deconvolution.

The following is the GUI image of EDECON. The panel on the right allows the user to select the Euler method from the standard Euler and six different variations of the Extended Euler methods. The structural index is also input when needed. The panel on the left specifies the input and output files.

A number of views of the input, intermediate and output data are available for EEDECON

The user can view of the input GXF (Grid eXchange Format) data

The user can view the depth of the output solutions, where they exist

The user can view a histogram of any output

The user can view any the intermediate grids

Each of the above windows can be expanded to view that component of the data in detail

The manual/documentation for the EEDECON software package is available for download.
