Frederic Youan is currently a Geophysicist at BP in Houston. He received an MSc degree in Dec. 2005 while a student in the Center for Petrophysics at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM). His thesis consists on modeling the effect of invasion on acoustic logging tools. Frederic earned a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Sciences in 2002 also from CSM, and has worked summer jobs as geophysicist intern with Shell, Conoco Phillips, and Occidental Oil companies in Houston and as an R&D intern at Western Geco at Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom. Frederic has also held several committee positions in student activities such as Chairman of the CSM Academic Events, and the National Society of Black Engineers. His hobbies are soccer, cooking, traveling, and designing video games.
